Focused practical development
The detail that makes a stronger drive.
Your training priorities come from an assessment of your driving. Sessions connect individual skills with the decisions you make on the road, so improvement carries through into the whole drive.
Observation and anticipation
Read beyond the vehicle ahead, recognise developing risk and make effective mirror and blind-spot checks at the right time.
Position, speed and space
Choose a safe approach, adapt to visibility and conditions, and keep useful clearance without losing progress.
Junctions and roundabouts
Bring lane choice, approach speed and gap judgement together, including where layouts or traffic patterns are unfamiliar.
Vehicle control and safety
Refine smooth, accurate handling and practise explaining and demonstrating the safety checks relevant to your car.
Reversing and manoeuvres
Combine accuracy with continuous observation. Recognise when to pause, reassess or adjust as the surroundings change.
Independent driving
Follow directions while keeping your attention on the road, and respond safely if you miss a turning or need to change your plan.
A clear training process
Know where you stand.
Know what comes next.
Useful preparation makes progress visible. Each stage gives you a clearer understanding of your driving and the work still needed.
Assess
Review your current driving, experience and any previous test feedback to establish a useful starting point.
Prioritise
Agree the skills that need attention and what a successful improvement would look like in practice.
Develop
Work on those priorities, then bring them together across varied roads with gradually less support.
Review readiness
Use a mock drive and focused feedback to assess consistency and decide what to practise next.

Your questions answered
Before you book your training.
Some decisions depend on your licence, current stage and intended test vehicle. Send us those details and we can discuss suitable arrangements.
For the qualification process, use the official ADI Part 2 guide.
Do I need to pass Part 1 before taking Part 2?
Yes. You can book the ADI Part 2 test once you have passed Part 1. You need to pass Parts 2 and 3 within two years of passing Part 1. Tell us your current stage when enquiring about training. See the GOV.UK booking guidance.
How many training sessions will I need?
That depends on your current driving standard, how readily changes become consistent and the practice available to you. We discuss a suitable plan after assessing your needs, then review it as your driving develops.
Can I take Part 2 in an automatic car?
GOV.UK allows manual licence holders to take Part 2 in either a manual or an automatic car and, once qualified, teach both. Automatic licence holders must take it in an automatic and can only teach in an automatic. Tell us your licence type so we can confirm suitable training arrangements. Read the official car and transmission rules.
Which car will I use for training and the test?
Vehicle arrangements must be agreed before booking. Let us know if you plan to use your own car or need to discuss another option. Your test car must meet the DVSA vehicle requirements, including suitable insurance and an extra interior mirror for the examiner. Test-day vehicle use is a separate arrangement to confirm.
Can you help after an unsuccessful Part 2 attempt?
Yes. Your test report can help us understand what happened, alongside a fresh assessment of your driving. Bring any feedback you received so the training can address the underlying causes. Check your remaining attempts and qualification deadline in the official results guidance.
Does this include ADI Part 3 training?
This service focuses on Part 2, which assesses your driving ability. Part 3 assesses your instructional ability. If you also need support with the next stage, tell us in your enquiry so we can discuss your wider training needs separately.
