Choosing your service

Driving lessons and instructor training FAQs.

Should I choose beginner lessons or standard automatic lessons?
Choose beginner driving lessons if you need to learn the controls and basic road routines from the start. The automatic driving lessons overview is a useful starting point if you have previous experience or are changing from manual tuition. Your current ability determines where the practical training begins.
Would an intensive course suit me better than regular lessons?
An intensive driving course may suit you if you can make time for frequent lessons and an assessment supports a realistic plan. Regular automatic lessons may fit better if you need more time between sessions to practise and consolidate skills. Share your experience and availability before choosing a timetable; a test date alone does not determine how much preparation you need.
Should I choose nervous driver lessons or refresher lessons?
Choose nervous driver lessons when anxiety is the main barrier to your progress, whether you are learning or already qualified. Refresher lessons suit full licence holders returning after a break or rebuilding particular skills. If both describe you, explain your concerns and the journeys you want to make so the lesson plan can address both.
Do I need test preparation or a mock driving test?
Choose practical driving test preparation when you need teaching and practice to address specific weaknesses or examiner feedback. A mock driving test is most useful once you can drive independently and want to assess your consistency under test-style conditions. If you are unsure, ask for a readiness assessment before booking a mock.
Can I book a lesson for one particular driving skill?
Yes. Choose parking lessons for manoeuvres and everyday parking spaces, or night driving lessons for driving after dark. Motorway lessons are designed for qualified drivers who want supported experience on faster roads. Describe the situation you want to improve so the route and lesson focus can be planned around it.
When should I choose Pass Plus rather than a focused lesson?
Choose Pass Plus training if you have passed your test and want a broader programme across different driving environments. If your priority is one specific situation, such as joining a motorway or driving after dark, a focused lesson may better match that goal. If you are returning after a long break, discuss refresher lessons as a starting point.
Are student driving lessons a separate type of course?
Student driving lessons provide automatic tuition with planning that takes account of school, college or university commitments. Your experience still determines the skills you work on. Share your term-time and holiday availability, including any gaps in previous tuition, so NGPass Driving Academy can discuss a practical learning plan.
Which instructor training matches my current stage?
Discuss ADI Part 2 training for driving ability preparation, ADI Part 3 training for teaching preparation, or Standards Check training if you are already a qualified instructor. Continuing development can focus on particular teaching skills. Use the instructor training enquiry and explain your current stage and goal. The official qualification guide explains the route to becoming an instructor.
